What You’ll Do:
As an Electrical Engineer, EIT, you’ll be responsible for managing client projects from quotation through execution and turnover. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Developing detailed project quotations based on client specifications, with input from the Operations Manager as needed.
- Ensuring customer contract requirements are met by facilitating the sales process and promoting The Panel Shop’s services to potential and existing customers.
- Planning, directing, and coordinating the preparation of quotations, proposals, designs, project documentation, and contract modifications.
- Developing CAD electrical schematics, including panel layouts and Bills of Materials, from client specifications.
- Reviewing client specifications and drawings to develop panel designs in conjunction with other company personnel.
- Developing detailed cost estimates, including sourcing material prices from approved vendors.
- Generating shop work packages and interfacing with technicians to resolve queries.
- Issuing vendor purchase orders within project schedules for materials.
- Monitoring project costs against budgets and leveraging the assistance and support of the Operations Manager.
- Ensuring that project budgets are established in Maestro and maintaining incurred cost records.
- Completing internal design reviews and checks to verify technical design integrity.
- Maintaining competency in technical standards (e.g., CSA / UL) needed to provide design services.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
We’re excited to meet candidates who have:
- A degree or post-secondary education in an electrical engineering technology program or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Some background in electrical component and system design, with the ability to interpret drawings, codes, and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of project management, with the ability to support technical projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Knowledge of CAD software to draft electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- A strong commitment to safety practices and behaviors.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a variety of personnel.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, including job estimating, planning, and administration, while achieving desired business outcomes.
