What You’ll Do:

As a Power Systems Technician (Field Service), you’ll provide technical expertise and hands-on maintenance at customer sites across Canada. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and testing of power generation and distribution equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues, including electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to assist in power system upgrades and expansions.
  • Monitoring and analyzing power system performance to identify potential improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
  • Adhering to strict safety protocols and industry regulations while working on power systems.
  • Mentoring and training less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Traveling to client sites across Canada to provide on-site support.
  • You’ll work closely with our technical team and report to the Technical Services Manager, helping drive innovation and excellence in power systems maintenance and support.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re excited to meet candidates who have:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minimum of five (5) years of field experience, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Proven experience as a Power Systems Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical principles and power distribution systems.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of power system protection and control devices.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, equipment, and software for troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Experience with power transformers, hands-on mechanical work, and general project management.
  • Ability to write technical reports, including commissioning & start-up summaries, and maintenance reports
  • Willingness to travel across Canada for field service work.
  • A valid driver’s license.
