What You’ll Do:
As a Labourer (Ad hoc - Casual), you’ll be responsible for supporting dock operations, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo, and maintaining a well-organized marine base. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload supplies, equipment, and materials from vessels, trucks, and storage areas.
- Dock Maintenance: Keep the dock area clean and free of hazards, perform basic maintenance, and assist in minor repairs as needed.
- Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move heavy cargo safely.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in safety meetings.
- Communication: Coordinate with dock supervisors, vessel crews, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Line Handling: Assist with securing and releasing mooring lines for arriving and departing vessels.
- Inventory Management: Track supplies, verify shipments, and report any discrepancies to supervisors.
- General Labour: Perform other duties such as painting, minor repairs, and assisting with special projects as assigned.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Marine Operations team and report directly to the Dock Supervisor, helping to ensure seamless and efficient dockside operations.
What We're Looking For:
We’re excited to meet candidates who have:
- Experience: Previous experience in marine, dock, or industrial labour work is preferred but not always required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy loads, work in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods.
- Certifications: WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, forklift certification, and marine safety training.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work shift schedules, including weekends and on-call duties.

Work Environment:
- Please note, this is an ad hoc on call project-based position. We have a busy season upcoming for the next couple of months, but there would be some variability to hours.
- Outdoor marine setting, exposure to water, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
- Fast-paced, physically demanding work requiring teamwork and adherence to strict safety protocols.
