What You’ll Do:

As a QC Inspector, you will play a key role in upholding GIP’s commitment to excellence by supporting the Company’s Quality Program. This short-term contract position requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under deadlines. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all requirements of the Inspection and Test Plan are followed, verified and signed off.
  • Carry out fit-up & welding inspection in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Request and verify NDE completion.
  • Verify, maintain welder qualification records and monitor their welding.
  • Inspect, verify and maintain traceability of materials in accordance with specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of final documentation for handover.
  • Liaise with client in relation to the ITP, on-going inspections and project related issues.

You’ll collaborate closely with the on-site construction and engineering teams and report directly to project leadership, helping ensure excellence in execution under challenging conditions.


What We're Looking For:

We’re excited to meet candidates who have:

  • 5 years related work experience in a project-based environment, ideally in industrial, mechanical or construction settings.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering technology, quality management, or a related discipline; a combination of education and equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum CWB Level 2 Certification with CSA W47.1/W59 code endorsement required
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry codes.
  • Must be familiar with weld mapping, as-built drawings, and document turnover
  • Strong Communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities—able to act decisively when issues arise.
  • Experience working in remote or extreme environments is a strong advantage.

  • Confined space, powerline hazard, fall arrest and WHIMS
