Your Role as Director of Operations

As Director of Operations, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple aggregate operations in Atlantic Canada, driving performance, safety, sustainability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership aligned with the GIP Way of Operating.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Drive operational performance through planning, goal setting, and coaching.
• Collaborate with sales teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Foster a customer-centric culture focused on problem-solving.
• Maintain high standards for material quality and production processes.
• Oversee quarry operations and process improvement initiatives.
• Implement proactive maintenance programs to maximize efficiency.
• Lead annual operating and capital budget planning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, stakeholders, and local communities.
• Mentor and develop staff to ensure effective succession planning.
• Champion adoption of new technologies to increase sustainability and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in aggregate operations management.
• Strong knowledge of aggregate production processes, equipment, and technologies.
• Proven ability to achieve financial and operational targets.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
• Experience managing trades environments is an asset.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Please note, this position will have a large travel component and will be required to work out of our work sites for extended periods of time.
