Your Role as Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple aggregate operations in Atlantic Canada, driving performance, safety, sustainability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership aligned with the GIP Way of Operating.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Drive operational performance through planning, goal setting, and coaching.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
- Foster a customer-centric culture focused on problem-solving.
- Maintain high standards for material quality and production processes.
- Oversee quarry operations and process improvement initiatives.
- Implement proactive maintenance programs to maximize efficiency.
- Lead annual operating and capital budget planning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, stakeholders, and local communities.
- Mentor and develop staff to ensure effective succession planning.
- Champion adoption of new technologies to increase sustainability and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in aggregate operations management.
- Strong knowledge of aggregate production processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Proven ability to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Experience managing trades environments is an asset.
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Please note, this position will have a large travel component and will be required to work out of our work sites for extended periods of time.
