What You’ll Do:
As a Project Controls Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Company’s overall reporting and project controls deliverables on major heavy civil construction projects. This position will likely begin in the office but will be required to be assigned on project sites as needed on a rotational basis. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, coordinating resource allocations and gathering information from multiple stakeholders
- Tracking progress, deliverables, and updating project schedules
- Managing and organizing cost codes and structures
- Analyzing workloads, productivity rates, and budget adherence
- Supporting development of project control systems, tools, and best practices
- Recommending improvements in project controls methods and processes
You’ll collaborate closely with estimating team, field teams and project managers and report directly to senior management within the Heavy Civil Division.
What We're Looking For:
We’re excited to meet candidates who have:
- An engineering degree or technical diploma (preferably in Civil Engineering)
- 5+ years of experience in scheduling, planning, or project controls on major construction projects
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Primavera P6
- Experience working in dynamic field-based environments
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- A strong work ethic and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
- Flexibility in work location and must be able to work from St. John’s or project locations depending on project needs
