Pennecon is seeking qualified individuals to work at its Qaqortoq, Airport Construction Site in Greenland. We are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to our heavy civil project team for the 2024 Construction Season.

Role: Labourer – Crushing Operations
Location: Qaqortoq, Greenland

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work. 

Duties include:

  • General labourer work relating to the crushing operation
  • Assisting with Mechanical Maintenance activities (greasing, lubes, tightening / adjusting belts etc.)
  • General cleanup around belts and conveyors
  • Work safely and efficiently, meeting the desired production requirements
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in a crushing environment.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance
  • Mechanical training or experience is considered an asset
  • Able to make good decisions working in fast paced environment working in close proximity to equipment and people

Safety Requirements

  • WHMIS, Powerline Hazards, Lock Out Tag Out, Silica Awareness, Fall Protection, AWP Training and Confined Space Training.
  • First Aid and OHS Committee Training would be an asset.

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Remote Work in Northern Climates
  • Working outside
  • Accommodations provided at the Site Construction Camp
  • Work is scheduled based on a 28 days on / 14 days off rotation schedule with 12 hours per day for 7 days per week
  • Travel to be provided by Pennecon with Charter Flights departing from St. John’s, NL on a Bi-Weekly basis
  • Valid Passport is required or ability to obtain before Mobilization
