Pennecon is seeking qualified individuals to work at its Qaqortoq, Airport Construction Site in Greenland. We are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to our heavy civil project team for the 2024 Construction Season.

Role: Truck Driver – Articulated Dump Truck (ADT)  
Location: Qaqortoq, Greenland

Position requires knowledge and experience operating Articulated Dump Trucks in hard rock environments on remote and fast paced work sites.

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work. 

Duties include:

  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Daily pre and post trip inspections
  • Daily maintenance such as checking fluids and greasing
  • Managing material and maintaining production goals
  • Safely travelling and setting up at work location
  • Follow instructions and exercise good judgement
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years experience operating ADT’s in quarry and pit environments and in production environments
  • Strong understanding of earthworks operations; Stripping, Road Building and Fill Placement Operations
  • Experience with fill placement operations in fast paced environment
  • Experience operating CAT and Komatsu ADT’s
  • Experience working around power lines and navigating over rugged terrain and tight areas
  • Able to make good decisions working in fast paced environment working in close proximity to equipment and people

Safety Requirements

  • WHMIS, Powerline Hazard Training, First Aid Training would be an asset, OHS Committee Training would be an asset

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Remote Work in Northern Climates
  • Working outside
  • Accommodations provided at the Site Construction Camp
  • Work is scheduled based on a 28 days on / 14 days off rotation schedule with 12 hours per day for 7 days per week
  • Travel to be provided by Pennecon with Charter Flights departing from St. John’s, NL on a Bi-Weekly basis
  • Valid Passport is required or ability to obtain before Mobilization
