Role: Civil Superintendent (Marine Works)

Location: Across Canada, needs to be open to rotational work 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Superintendent to join our team for an upcoming marine construction projects. As a Civil Superintendent, you will play a key supervisory role overseeing the construction of critical marine infrastructure components.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Lead and supervise the construction of two (2) timber crib wharves, including fabrication, placement, and ballasting;
  • Manage dredging and mattress placement activities to ensure project timelines and specifications are met;
  • Coordinate rock importing, barging, and offloading operations effectively;
  • Oversee topsides work, including concrete deck installation, cope wall construction, wheel guard installation, and ladder placements;
  • Leadership and direction among the construction trades and crew, organizing and overseeing daily construction activities;
  • Interpret construction drawings and implement proper construction techniques;
  • Have an active handle of the review of people, equipment, materials, and any potential subcontractors working within defined work scopes assigned;
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting – including progress;
  • Control and monitor project status and schedules;
  • Ensure conformance with applicable engineering requirements, and schedule resources, including labour and equipment. 

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marine construction;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the marine construction industry;
  • Piling experience would be considered a strong asset for this position;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful marine projects on time and within budget.

There is an expectation to work extended work schedules, which includes holidays and weekends.  Travel away from home will be required.  Preferred candidates will be open to travel and construction project work, and be on a defined rotation work schedule.  Competitive living out allowance will be provided.
