Pennecon is seeking qualified individuals to work at its Qaqortoq, Airport Construction Site in Greenland. We are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to our heavy civil project team for the 2024 Construction Season.

Role: Crusher Operator – Crushing Operations
Location: Qaqortoq, Greenland

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work. 

Duties include:

• Operate crushing spread safely and efficiently, meeting the desired production targets
• Operate loading and unloading equipment, conveyors, hoists, and other materials handling equipment
• Record operating data, e.g., products and quantities, gauge readings and operating times through manual and electronic methods
• Fully trained in the operations and capabilities of a loader and other related crushing equipment
• Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
• Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team
• General maintenance of machinery, pre-trip and post-trip inspections 
• Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in crushing operations, experience with Sandvik crushers considered an asset
• Heavy Equipment Training and / or Experience with Traction Engine endorsement 08 or International equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating Caterpillar and Komatsu Loaders (3 ¾ - 7 ¾ m³ capacity) in high production settings
• Experience with proper loading of raw materials and stockpiling of produced aggregates to prevent segregation of materials
• Experience handling multiple types of crushed products
• Able to make good decisions working in fast paced environment working in close proximity to equipment and people

Safety Requirements

• WHMIS, Powerline Hazards, Lock Out Tag Out, Silica Awareness, Fall Protection, AWP Training and Confined Space Training.
• First Aid and OHS Committee Training would be an asset.

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Remote Work in Northern Climates
• Working outside
• Accommodations provided at the Site Construction Camp
• Work is scheduled based on a 28 days on / 14 days off rotation schedule with 12 hours per day for 7 days per week
• Travel to be provided by Pennecon with Charter Flights departing from St. John’s, NL on a Bi-Weekly basis
• Valid Passport is required or ability to obtain before Mobilization
